Biography
Dan Baker is a freelance producer, project manager and workshop leader working in theatre and live arts.
Since completing his training on the MA Advanced Theatre Practice course at Central School of Speech and Drama in 2009 Dan has produced a broad spectrum of work, including a variety of performances and large-scale events. Dan is currently Producer for Agent 160 Theatre Company and EmptyBox Theatre, and has previously been Associate Producer for Box of Tricks.
Dan is also an experienced workshop leader, with a background in education and outreach work. Capable of delivering one-off or durational workshops or residencies, Dan has experience of working with groups with all ages and abilities - leading sessions as diverse as developing basic drama skills to facilitating sessions on producing and devising new work. He has also worked with students in Higher Education, delivering lectures around various aspects related to his own practice.
At present, Dan is also exploring opportunities to blog or write about arts matters - with an interest in arts journalism, he is keen to find opportunities to draw on his own experiences as an arts-maker in order to inform and engage others. He currently writes a blog - entitled BurntArts - as well as being a contributor and blogger for Arts Professional Magazine.
