Community & Education Work
As well as producing, Dan has nearly ten years experience in co-ordinating and delivering community and education work.
First working with Theatre Royal Plymouth as a trainee practitioner, over the past ten years Dan has co-ordinated, delivered and assisted on education and outreach projects for a number of companies - details of his previous work are listed on this page.
Capable of delivering one-off or durational workshops or residencies, Dan has experience of working with groups with all ages and abilities - leading sessions as diverse as developing basic drama skills to facilitating sessions on producing and devising new work. He has also worked with students in Higher Education, delivering lectures around various aspects related to his own practice, and has evaluated projects and created education packs for touring productions.
Through his work with EmptyBox Theatre, Dan has also been involved in the creation of work aimed at young people and family audiences both in terms of performances and workshop programmes. As someone with a passion for youth arts and theatre for young people, Dan has taken part in skills development workshops led by companies including Frantic Assembly, ATC and Half Moon Young People's Theatre; additionally, he has attended Masterclass events focused on creating work with young people led by Matthew Bourne, Richard Eyre and Ken Campbell.
